Over the past year, Coeuraj led the Reconciliation in Post-Secondary Education Social Innovation Lab. We built off McConnell Foundation’s Lab 1.0 to design both a space and a process that brought together a diverse group of people with the aim of identifying and co-creating promising paths forward to advance truth and reconciliation in Canada.
The Story to Here: Reconciliation in Post Secondary Education Social Innovation Lab 2.0
Our lab enabled PSIs to continue to take accountability for their role in Reconciliation, strengthen relationships and build trust between PSIs and Indigenous communities, and weave Indigenous and other approaches in systems change efforts. We focused on capacity-building, training facilitators and lab leads within four PSIs from across the country to deliver the lab process within their schools. We were guided by several Elders, knowledge keepers, and project advisors who helped bring the teams’ visions to life.
As a culmination of our efforts, we have prepared our final lab report. The report captures our lab process, evaluation, and reflections. We hope that it inspires you to pause and reflect on how to integrate learnings from our work into your practice of social innovation and to continue efforts to advance truth and reconciliation in Canada.
